Tour Details

At the indicated time we'll meet at Via Ricca in Aci Trezza. From here, we'll walk to the harbour to board the boat for the Marine Protected Area of the Cyclops Islands. The boat trip lasts about two hours, allowing you to admire the small Italian archipelago. The name of the islands comes from the legend of the voyage of Ulysses.

We will first see the Isola di Lachea, the largest of the Cyclops islands. We will discuss the archaeological wealth of the area, including tombs and late Roman artefacts. As we sail, we will admire the Faraglione Grande and Faraglione Piccolo and explore their connections to Etna's eruptions.

Before returning, we’ll see the Norman castle of Aci Castello, dating back to the 7th century, and the Ulysses caves. You may take a dip in the caves if desired.

Once docked, we will serve a delicious lunch with typical Sicilian products, including arancino di riso catanese with meat, baked onions, and cartocciata alla parmigiana. This will be accompanied by wine and water and a Sicilian dessert of almond paste.

The activity concludes after 3 hours, arriving back at the starting point.
