Catania Scuba Diving

Do you want to go scuba diving? Whether you're a beginner or already have an official certification, this scuba diving activity in Aci Castello is an opportunity to explore the waters of the Gulf of Catania.

Activity Details

At the time of your choice, we will meet at Via Provinciale 23/25 in Aci Trezza and walk to the port of Aci Castello, where a boat will be waiting. We will board the boat and start sailing in search of ideal scuba diving locations along the Ionian Sea.

Divers will be equipped with necessary technical gear, including fins and an oxygen pump. Instructions on each equipment piece, underwater communication signals, and basic safety rules will be provided.

Diving depth varies; first-time divers can go to 6 metres (19 feet), while certified divers can dive as deep as 18 metres (59 feet).

Under instructor supervision, divers will explore volcanic islets and observe marine life, including white seabream, blackspot seabream, octopus, sea sponges, and gorgonias.

While diving off the coast of Aci Castello, participants will see volcanic faults, columns of solidified lava, and unique rock formations, along with sunken ships from the Second World War.

The total duration of the activity is 4 hours, concluding with disembarkation at the initial port.
