Did you know that Tenerife is home to one of the most important solar telescopes in the world? On our Teide Stargazing Tour, you'll discover this incredible instrument and attend a workshop in the Teide National Park.
Teide Stargazing Tour from South Tenerife
Between 2:15 and 4:30 pm, we'll pick you up from your chosen meeting point and head to the Teide National Park. The minibus will take us to the Teide Observatory, where we will have a guided tour of its facilities, which include several laboratories and different telescopes. We will explain why Tenerife is ideal for astronomical observation due to its altitude and low pollution.
From the observatory, we'll watch a breathtaking sunset as the sun sets behind the clouds surrounding Teide. Afterward, we will travel to the base station of the Teide cable car for a 30-minute break, where we'll have a picnic meal including a sausage and cheese sandwich, a sweet treat, and a drink.
Once it’s dark, we will begin a stargazing workshop lasting 1 hour 15 minutes, where we will locate key constellations and the International Space Station, using long-range telescopes to observe celestial bodies. The tour concludes with drop-off between 10:15 pm and 12:30 am.
Tour with or without food
If you prefer not to have the picnic meal, you can book the option without food, but you will need to bring your own meal.
Pickup
This tour includes pickup from main hotels and various central points in Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa Las Americas, and other areas in southern Tenerife. The complete list of pickup locations will be available during booking. We will inform you of the exact pickup time based on your location and the sunset time.
