Dolphin Sighting & Ship Graveyard Cruise
At the designated time, we'll meet at McLaren Wharf in Port Adelaide to start our cruise. Prepare to explore the natural beauty and history of Adelaide’s waterways. Our adventure begins as we board the boat, offering views along the coastline while our guide shares local history and information about iconic ships.
The Port Adelaide River has a rich maritime past. During the cruise, we will observe various shipwrecks and landmarks, each with unique stories. We will encounter significant wrecks partially submerged in the river and learn about their histories.
Next, we will proceed to the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, which is home to a wild dolphin population residing within the city. There may be opportunities to see local dolphins, including newborn calves during warmer months.
Afterwards, we will visit the International Bird Sanctuary, where we may observe migratory shorebirds, including the threatened Curlew Sandpiper, as well as the Australian Pelican and Pied Cormorant.
This cruise lasts 1.5 hours in total.
