The eruption of Mount Vesuvius caused devastation to the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. On this day trip, we'll discover what these cities were once like.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your meeting point and drive to the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, buried by the lava and ash from Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Upon arrival at this archaeological site, we'll take a guided tour of Pompeii. During the approximately 2-hour tour, we'll explore landmarks such as the House of the Faun, the Amphitheatre, and the House of Menander. We will address how citizens of Pompeii lived and their awareness of the impending eruption. After this, you'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch.

After lunch, we will proceed to Herculaneum, another city buried in 79 AD, where we will visit well-preserved sites like the Casa dei Cervi and the Sacello degli Augustali. Following the tour, we will visit a local cameo workshop to learn about the making of these accessories before returning to the meeting points, scheduled 8 hours after pickup.
