Day Trip Details

We will collect you from the hotel and head eastwards. After almost 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at the archaeological site of Bateshwar.

Located on the banks of the river Yamuna, there is a complex of more than two hundred temples dedicated to the main deities of Hinduism: Shiva, Vishnu and Kali. We will learn about the origins of these shrines, many of which have remained in ruins after being abandoned for over six centuries.

During the tour around the temples of Bateshwar, we will observe the restoration efforts on buildings constructed between the 8th and 10th centuries. You will walk between the temples and ruins, noting the distinct features of each shrine. From the terraces, you will capture the views of the Bateshwar sanctuaries, a landscape that spreads over ten hectares.

Upon completion of the visit, we will transport you back to your hotel in Agra.
