We will collect you from the hotel and head towards the Itimad-ud-Daulah tomb. This mausoleum is located on the banks of the river Yamuna and is commonly known as “the small Taj”.

During our visit, we will discover why the tomb is considered the precursor to the famous Taj Mahal. Learn about the nobleman who lies in the mausoleum and his relation to the emperor who constructed the Taj Mahal decades later. We will hear these stories while admiring the architecture of this white marble building.

We will continue the tour in the Mehtab Bagh garden. This square park was constructed on the banks opposite the Taj Mahal, providing the best views of the monument.

During the visit, you will learn about the history of the Mehtab Bagh. Legend has it that Sha Jahan wanted to construct a black marble replica here. Is there any truth to this rumor?
