Valley of the Temples Private Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at the Chiosca della Limonata and begin our private tour of Agrigento, known by the Greeks as Agracante.

This 2-hour tour explores the iconic Valley of the Temples, a central site of Magna Graecia, comparable to the Acropolis of Athens. The Doric temples were designated a World Heritage Site in 1998 due to their preservation.

We will enjoy views of the Mediterranean Sea from the Temple of Juno and walk along the Via Sacra, admiring the ancient walls of the Greek city noted in Virgil's The Aeneid. Our route will take us to the Temple of Concordia, where we will learn about its history.

We will also pass a paleochristian necropolis and discuss the historical eras represented here. Additional sites include the Temples of Heracles and Zeus, along with mythological legends about Agracante.

The private tour concludes at the Temple of Zeus, 2 hours after starting.

If you wish to extend your tour, you can visit the Temple of Castor and Pollux and explore the Kolymbetra Garden, known for its typical Sicilian citrus trees. The 3-hour tour concludes in the Kolymbetra Garden.
