  • 2 - 3 Stunden

On our Valley of the Temples Private Tour in Agrigento, you'll discover a World Heritage Site and a key location of Classical Greece, including the well-preserved Temple of Concordia.

Valley of the Temples Private Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at the Chiosca della Limonata and start our private tour of Agrigento, also known as Agracante.

This is a 2-hour tour around the iconic Valley of the Temples, a center of Magna Graecia, comparable to the Acropolis of Athens. The Doric temples were designated a World Heritage Site in 1998 for their exceptional preservation.

We will enjoy a panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea from the Temple of Juno before walking along the Via Sacra, admiring the ancient city walls referenced by Virgil in The Aeneid. We will then visit the Temple of Concordia, learning about its history and viewing its preserved colonnade.

Our path will also take us past a paleochristian necropolis to discuss the historical phases of this site, and we will see the Temples of Heracles and Zeus alongside mythological stories about Agracante. The tour will conclude 2 hours after starting at the Temple of Zeus.

3-hour Tour

For those interested in additional sights, you can visit the Temple of Castor and Pollux and the Kolymbetra Garden, known for its orange and lemon trees typical of Sicily. The private tour will conclude in the Kolymbetra Garden after 3 hours of exploration.
