Tour of Agropoli
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the access steps to the historical center of Agropoli that lead to the majestic Angio-Aragonese castle.
First, we'll cross the Porta Bizantina, one of the town's main entrances from medieval times. Entering, we'll explore the historical atmosphere of Agropoli Vecchia, walking along cobble-stoned streets lined with stone houses.
Next, we'll visit the Church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, a 16th-century architectural piece with a simple facade and intriguing frescoed interior. Afterward, we will wander the narrow, winding streets of the village to experience the authentic atmosphere of a typical Cilento village.
Then, we'll head to the Aragonese Castle to admire its exterior. This 8th-century fortress overlooks the village from the promontory, where we'll learn about its history and legends. Finally, we'll descend to a viewpoint for a stunning view of the sea and cliffs.
Afterward, we'll visit the port of Agropoli for a coffee and cake or ice cream, concluding our tour 3 hours later.
