Discover the breathtaking French region of Provence that inspired Vincent Van Gogh on this day trip to Arles, Saint-Rémy and Les Baux.
Arles, Saint-Rémy & Les Baux Day Trip
Pickup will be at 9 am from the tourist office in Aix-en-Provence, followed by an hour's journey to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Upon arrival, visit Les Antiques, Roman monuments marking the entrance to the ancient city of Glanum. Explore Saint-Rémy at your leisure, including a recommendation to see the recreation of Van Gogh's bedroom in Saint-Paul de Mausole. Tours on Wednesdays include a visit to the local market.
Next, we will visit Les Baux-de-Provence. You may see its magnificent fortress atop the Alpilles and enjoy views of the surrounding fields. Optional: attend the sound and light shows at Carrières des Lumières (entrance fee not included).
The final stop is Arles, where Van Gogh lived. Visit the Roman amphitheatre and, if visiting on a Saturday, the Provencal market.
Return to Aix-en-Provence is at 5:30 pm.
