Scandola and Girolata Boat Trip
Early in the morning, participants will meet at Tino Rossi pier to board the boat and begin the trip along the western coast of Corsica Island.
During the maritime journey, impressive views of the famous rock formations along the coastline will be available. This area serves as a sanctuary for a variety of birds, including the peregrine falcon and the osprey.
The boat will reach the peninsula of Scandola, a land and marine nature reserve declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. This region features volcanic rock formations that rise from the sea in striking shapes and colors. Participants will cruise beneath grottos shaped by centuries of wind and sea erosion, with the dramatic contrast of the colors against the deep blue Mediterranean.
The journey continues to the Gulf of Girolata, which features the 18th-century Genovese tower overlooking the fishing village of Girolata. A two-hour stop will be made for exploration of the picturesque streets and the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine in nearby restaurants.
On the return, the boat will pass the scenic coves of Piana and the stunning Cape Rosso, which, like Scandola, is part of an area renowned for its volcanic landscapes.
