Scandola and Girolata Boat Trip
In the early morning, the meeting point is Tino Rossi pier, where the boat departs for a trip along the western coast of Corsica island.
During the maritime journey, admire the distinctive rock formations that are characteristic of this coastline, which is home to various bird species, including peregrine falcons and ospreys.
The boat will reach the peninsula of Scandola, a land and marine nature reserve designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. This area features volcanic rock formations with unique shapes and colors, navigated beneath grottos sculpted by wind and sea erosion. The contrast of the vibrant rock colors against the deep blue Mediterranean is striking.
Continuing to the Gulf of Girolata, the setting includes the 18th-century Genovese tower overlooking the fishing village of Girolata. A two-hour stop allows exploration of the village streets and savoring local cuisine at nearby restaurants.
On the return journey, pass by the scenic coves of Piana and the beautiful Cape Rosso, part of an area known for its volcanic landscapes.
