Bangkok Grand Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most important monument. Built in the late 18th century as a royal residence, the complex includes exquisitely designed buildings, temples, gardens, and courtyards still used for ceremonies and state functions. During the tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel in central Bangkok and taken to the Grand Palace to discover its myths and legends. The architecture features delicately carved scenes on gold-lacquered, multi-tiered roofs of the Phra Thinang or "Throne Halls." The complex houses important temples, including Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which contains the revered jade Buddha statue. The guided tour includes visits to the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, Golden Chedi, and Royal Pantheon. You will be dropped back off at your hotel at tour's end.

Dress code

There is a strict dress code for entering the Grand Palace:

Long trousers or skirt (ankle-length), long-sleeved shirt, and covered shoes.

Visitors will not be permitted to enter if wearing:

Shorts, mini skirts, culottes, tights, ripped trousers, sleeveless or rolled-up shirts, see-through clothes, sleepwear, sportswear, sandals.

Socks are recommended as shoes must be removed to visit the Buddha statues.

Asoke; Sukhumvit; Chidlom; Chinatown; Pathumwan; Phayathai; Ploenchit; Pomprab; Pratunam; Petchburi Road from number 1 to Avani Atrium; Phranakorn; Silom; Sathorn; Siam Square; Sukhumvit Road Soi 1-33 and Soi 2-24.

If you booked the morning tour, pick up will be from 7 am to 8 am; the afternoon tour from 11:10 am to 12:30 pm. The local tour provider will confirm pick up time and place if your accommodation is not listed above.
