Excursión a Volendam, Marken, Edam y Zaanse Schans

Step back in time as you head to the serene Dutch countryside for a taste of its windmills, dams, and medieval towns. A must if you're in Amsterdam!

Windmills Tour: Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam & Marken

The tour meets at the indicated time in the center of Amsterdam. We'll board the bus to visit the windmills of Zaanse Schans and Westerland.

Zaanse Schans features windmills that were integral to the region's industrial history in the 17th and 18th centuries, used to produce various goods. You’ll have the chance to visit some windmills and learn how they function.

The tour also includes a visit to a clogs workshop, where traditional footwear is still crafted.

Next, we proceed to Edam, renowned for its cheese and history as a significant port in the Middle Ages. Here, we will visit a dairy farm to sample its products.

We then head to Volendam, known for its vibrant atmosphere. You will have free time to explore its picturesque streets and fishing port.

Then we visit Marken, a fishing village known for its wooden houses and historical charm, located on a peninsula near Amsterdam.

We will start our return journey, arriving back in Amsterdam about eight hours after departure.

Temporary Itinerary Changes

Between September 26 and October 27, the itinerary will be affected. We will not visit Marken as the access road will be closed, and the ferry option between Volendam and Marken is also cancelled. The trip duration remains 8 hours, with extended time in other locations.
