Popularly known as The City of Silver, Kutná Hora is a 13-century mining town in the region of Bohemia. Set off on a half-day trip from Prague to this UNESCO-listed city, accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Na P?íkop? 23 in central Prague. From there, we'll take a bus for a 1-hour drive to Kutná Hora, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kutná Hora was once a major source of silver in Europe, producing a third of the continent's silver during the late 13th century.
Our first stop will be the Sedlec Ossuary, a Roman Catholic chapel from the 14th century adorned with 40,000 human skeletons arranged in decorative forms, including a giant chandelier.
Next, we'll visit the Cathedral of St Barbara, a notable Gothic architectural piece. We will stroll through the historic center, viewing various Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque town houses, including a 15th-century stone fountain. Afterward, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch or further exploration.
Finally, we'll regroup and return to Prague, concluding the trip with a total duration of 6.5 hours.
