Lake Yarinacocha Boat Trip + La Jungla Zoo Visit
We will pick you up at your hotel in Pucallpa at a time of your choice and head towards Lake Yarinacocha.
Upon arrival, we will board a traditional wooden boat, known as a 'peke peke', and set sail on the lake, observing the Amazonian wildlife. The reservoir is said to have been formed by the tears of a mermaid who fell in love with a human.
During the trip, we will view the famous castle of Yarinacocha, a large house surrounded by bamboo resembling a fairytale palace, and will encounter Shipibo-Conibo indigenous populations along the lake's shore.
Next, we will disembark to visit La Jungla Zoo, which houses a variety of rescued species, including crocodiles, snakes, tapirs, and pirarucu fish. Brave participants may have the opportunity to hold an anaconda.
After the zoo visit, we will stop by the Caserio 11 de Agosto handicraft shop to view handmade pieces and traditional clothing. On our return journey by boat, you will observe birds such as macaws, woodpeckers, and blue turtledoves.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel after a four and a half hour activity.
