Tour Details

We'll meet in front of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, at Piazza Guiseppe Verdi, 3 to start a tour dedicated to civil mobilization against organized crime.

After observing the Teatro Massimo from the outside, we'll head towards Piazza Beati Paoli, linked to the secret sect mentioned by Luigi Natoli in his novel. We'll analyze the alleged connection between the sect and Cosa Nostra and continue to the Mercato del Capo, which is said to have hidden paths used by the Beati Paoli.

Our next stop will be the Piazza della Memoria, where we will see the memorial dedicated to magistrates killed by the Mafia. We'll then head to Palermo Cathedral, discussing the relationship between the Mafia and the Church, including the story of Don Pino Puglisi.

Passing by the Town Hall, a former symbol of the union between Cosa Nostra and politics, we'll go to Piazza Magione, in the Arab quarter of Kalsa, where Falcone and Borsellino spent their childhood.

Along the way, we'll notice the logo of the critical consumption campaign "Pago chi non paga" (I pay those who don't pay) displayed on the windows of shops that refuse the racket, supported by the Addiopizzo Committee.

The tour will end after three hours at the Fontana Pretoria.
