With this excursion to Somiedo Natural Park, you'll experience one of the significant protected areas in northern Spain, an essential visit if you are in Oviedo. Discover less-traveled locations that provide a unique perspective on our group tour.
Tour Details
On the tour day, you'll be picked up at the designated meeting point to explore picturesque villages in Somiedo Natural Park. The first stop is Alto de la Farrapona, where you'll embark on a scenic walk for about an hour, visiting the hidden Cave Lake. Following this, the tour will take you to the Somiedo Ecomuseum to learn about local traditions.
Next, we’ll go to Pola de Somiedo, known from Joseph Townsend’s book. Here, you'll have free time for lunch and to explore the charming town. Finally, we'll visit Santa María del Puerto, a quaint village in the Cantabrian Mountains.
After the tour, we’ll return to the minibus and head back to the meeting point, arriving between 10 and 11 hours after departure.

Ecomuseum of Somiedo
The Ecomuseum of Somiedo is closed every Tuesday until 1 July 2025. If your tour is on that day, the Ethnographic Complex of Perlunes will be visited instead.
