Day Trip to the Arctic Coast
At the appointed time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and, aboard a 4x4 vehicle, we'll drive towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. As we cross the northernmost lands of Iceland, we'll experience the Arctic coastline, the Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and valleys.
We'll explain how this landscape was shaped during the Ice Age while contemplating the mountains and passing through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. A stop will be made at one of the black sand beaches.
The excursion will take us to Siglufjörður, where the TV series 'Trapped' was filmed. It's considered one of the most beautiful villages on the Tröllaskagi peninsula.
We will stroll through this village known for its wooden houses and history linked to herring fishing, discussing the area's golden age.
After Siglufjörður, we'll head to Hauganés, characterized by small houses and a sparse population. We'll visit a black sand bay with hot tubs heated by geothermal energy.
Before returning to Akureyri, we'll have lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés. After six hours of the excursion, we'll drop you off back at your hotel.
