Day Trip to the Arctic Coast

At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and drive in a 4x4 vehicle towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. Experience the breathtaking Arctic coastline, Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and valleys. We'll explain how this landscape was shaped during the Ice Age as we pass through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík and stop at a black sand beach.

Our excursion will take us to Siglufjörður, known for being featured in the TV series 'Trapped'. It's considered one of the most beautiful villages on the peninsula. Stroll through the village, notable for its wooden houses and history related to herring fishing. We'll discuss the area's historical significance.

Next, we'll visit Hauganés, where time seems to have stood still. Enjoy a dip in the hot tubs on the black sand bay, heated by geothermal energy. Before returning to Akureyri, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés.

After six hours of exploration, we'll conclude the tour and drop you off at your hotel.
