The Best of Northern Iceland: Godafoss & Lake Mývatn Tour from Akureyri
At the designated time, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Akureyri for an exploration of Godafoss Waterfall and Lake Mývatn. We will drive through remarkable locations in northern Iceland.
On the way to Godafoss Waterfall, enjoy the natural beauty surrounding us. Upon arrival, witness the stunning waterfall, twelve meters (40 feet) high and thirty meters (100 feet) wide, formed by the Skjálfandafljót River. Godafoss is historically significant as the site marking Iceland's Christianization, known locally as "the waterfall of the gods."
Next, we will explore the volcanic region around Lake Mývatn. This includes ancient craters, a lava labyrinth, and unique rock formations. We will visit a preserved cave, the cracks at Grjótagjá, the mud pots of Hverir, and the lava structures of Dimmuborgir. Enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Akureyri fjord. Optionally, you can relax in the natural baths of Mývatn.
After eight hours of exploration, we will return you to your hotel, concluding an unforgettable Icelandic adventure.
