If you're arriving at Akureyri by cruise ship, visiting Godafoss Waterfall and Lake Mývatn is essential.

Godafoss Waterfall & Lake Mývatn Shore Excursion

At the scheduled time, we will meet at the cruise terminal in Akureyri to commence our excursion to Godafoss Waterfall and Lake Mývatn, two significant natural attractions in northern Iceland.

We will drive along the coast of Eyjafjordur. Our first stop will be the Godafoss Waterfall, recognized as the "Waterfall of the Gods."

En route to Lake Mývatn, we will observe the landscape with volcanic formations such as lava pillars. This lake was formed by a large eruption of basaltic lava 2,300 years ago.

Next, we will visit the Grjótagjá Cave and the Hverarönd hot springs area in Námaskarð, where you will have the option to relax in the steam baths or have a massage. Alternatively, you can use this time for lunch at a local restaurant.

On our return, we will view the Dimmuborgir lava formations and stop at Skútustaðagígar, known for its pseudo craters. Our final stop will be at Eyjafjordur, the longest fjord in northern Iceland.

We will conclude the excursion with goodbyes back at the meeting point in Akureyri, approximately 6 hours after departure.
