Lake Mývatn Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Akureyri and set off in our minibus towards Lake Mývatn, traveling along the shores of Eyjafjördur, Iceland's longest fjord.
The first stop will be the Goðafoss waterfall, significant in history for the event in 999 AD when pagan idols were thrown into the water.
Afterward, we'll proceed to Lake Mývatn, exploring its volcanic landscape and wetlands, including the mouth of the Laxa River. Bird enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of avian species during this trip.
Next, we'll walk along the trails of Dimmuborgir, observing lava fields with diverse rock formations. The itinerary includes visits to Hverarönd and Grjótagjá Cave, noted as one of Iceland's most beautiful caves.
We'll conclude the trip at the departure point 5 hours after the start of the activity.
