Tour of Godafoss, Selfoss, & Dettifoss Waterfalls

On this tour of northern Iceland starting from Akureyri, you'll explore three main waterfalls: Godafoss, Selfoss, and Dettifoss.

Diamond Circle Tour

Pickup will be from your hotel in Akureyri at the scheduled time to begin the Diamond Circle tour. The first stop is the Godafoss Waterfall, significant in Iceland's history as the birthplace of the Christianisation of Iceland. Following this, a visit to Lake Mývatn will showcase its volcanic landscape.

Next, the tour proceeds to Reykjadalur Valley and the Skutustadir Craters. We will then visit Dimmuborgir, known for its ancient lava formations, before a walk through the Grjótagjá Cave.

Further along, the tour includes Selfoss and Dettifoss waterfalls, among the most impressive in Iceland. In the last segment, discover the hot springs of Grjótagja, where you'll have free time to enjoy thermal baths near Lake Mývatn.

Lastly, we will pass by Eyjafjordur for photo opportunities before concluding this 9-hour tour with a drop-off at your hotel in Akureyri.
