Tour to Tayma
On this excursion to Tayma, we will explore an ancient site with over 2,000 years of history, including several palaces and the largest water well in Saudi Arabia.
Pickup will be between 7 and 8 am from your hotel in Al-Ula for a 2-hour drive to the archaeological site of Tayma, one of the oldest human settlements in Saudi Arabia.
Before arriving, there will be stops to visit notable monuments along the route, including Bir Haddaj, the largest water well in the country, as well as the palaces of Al Ridham and Al Hamra.
Upon arriving in Tayma, we will visit the ancient walls dating back to the 7th century B.C. This settlement thrived due to its strategic location in an oasis and its role in various trade routes.
After viewing the walls, lunch will be provided at a restaurant featuring different delicacies of Saudi gastronomy.
The next stop will be the ruins of the Qasr Al Romman palace, previously owned by a family of Tayma governors. We will then visit the Al Fajr Museum, where you can see artifacts from this historic site.
The excursion will conclude between 4 and 5 pm, followed by a return to your hotel.
