Tour to Tayma
Between 7 and 8 am, transportation will be provided from your hotel in Al-Ula to the archaeological site of Tayma, approximately a 2-hour drive. The site is one of the oldest human settlements in Saudi Arabia.
On the way, there will be stops to visit notable landmarks, including Bir Haddaj, the country’s largest water well, and the palaces of Al Ridham and Al Hamra.
Upon arrival in Tayma, the tour will feature the ancient walls dating back to the 7th century B.C. This settlement thrived due to its strategic location within an oasis and its role in various trade routes.
A restaurant stop will follow, offering a selection of Saudi gastronomy for lunch.
Next, the tour includes a visit to the ruins of the Qasr Al Romman palace, formerly owned by a family of Tayma governors. The Al Fajr Museum will provide further insights into the history of this ancient city through its collection of artifacts.
The excursion will conclude between 4 and 5 pm, with drop-off back at your hotel.
