Tour Highlights
Gathering at the scheduled time at the Tourist Office, located right by the border with Spain, our guided tour of Alandroal will begin, focusing on the exploration of the majestic Castle.
Situated in a delightful setting, the Castle of Alandroal is home to the church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, which showcases baroque architecture. This church houses the final resting place of Diogo Lopes de Sequeira, an old mayor of the town and former governor of Portuguese India (1518-1522).
Adjacent to the Castle is the monumental Fonte das Bicas, an 18th-century baroque fountain crafted from marble and adorned with six lion-headed gargoyles. In the vicinity, the City Hall is located at the Republic Square.
A short walk from the Town Hall leads to the church of Misericordia, which has a fascinating story to discover. We'll also pass by the Casa de Pimentel and other notable points of interest.
After a two-hour guided tour of Alandroal, you'll have unveiled the charm of this tiny yet historically and architecturally rich locale.
