Activity Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Banff and head deep into Banff National Park. In about half an hour, we'll reach the spectacular frozen waterfalls of Johnston Canyon.

After a brief presentation on the route, we'll begin the hike along the walkways of Johnston Canyon, where you'll enjoy views of the snowy wilderness surrounding us.

Our journey will cover a distance of 5.4 kilometers (3.4 miles) and 135 meters (443 feet) of altitude. You'll see various frozen natural features, including waterfalls, lakes, and ravines. The guide will share insights about the canyon's formation and fossils in the rocks.

Throughout the walk, you'll have opportunities to capture winter landscapes on camera. To reenergize, we'll enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point and board the minibus to return to your hotel in Banff after a 4-hour excursion.
