Activity Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Banff and then head deep into the Banff National Park. In about half an hour, we'll reach the spectacular frozen waterfalls of Johnston Canyon.

After a brief presentation on the route, we'll start the hike along the walkways of Johnston Canyon. Along the way, you'll enjoy views of the snowy wilderness that surrounds us.

Our journey will cover a distance of 5.4 kilometers (3.4 miles) and an altitude change of 135 meters (443 feet). You'll see various frozen natural features including waterfalls, lakes, and ravines. The guide will provide insights on the canyon's formation and its fossils.

During the walk, you'll have opportunities to capture winter landscapes. To reenergize, we'll enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point and board the minibus to return to your hotel in Banff after a 4-hour excursion.
