Learn about the history of the southern French town with this Albi Private Tour just for you and your partner, family or friends. The best way to visit this location in the Occitanie region!
Description
We'll begin the Albi private tour by meeting at the scheduled time at the Tourist Office.
First, we'll visit Sainte Cecile Cathedral. Inside this medieval temple, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll admire its Gothic style paintings and works of art. It is the largest brick cathedral in the world, featuring decorations on its vault and sidewalls that illustrate the stories of the Creation, the Last Judgement, and the Resurrection.
The tour will continue to the Palais de la Berbie. This 13th-century palace, formerly the bishop's residence, now houses the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, dedicated to the famous painter born in Albi. We'll have the opportunity to see several canvases by this artist, as well as the gardens of the Palais de la Berbie.
Then we'll take a walk through the historic centre and along the banks of the Tarn to the Pont Vieux, with construction commencing in 1040, making it one of the oldest bridges in France.
The tour will end 2 hours after the start of the activity.
