Day Trip to Culla & the Maestrazgo Mining Park

Join us on a tour from Alcocéber to the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the town of Culla, exploring the history of miners and the former residence of the Knights Templar.

Description

The excursion begins at the designated time in front of the Alcocéber Tourist Office, leading to the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the town of Culla.

Upon arrival at the Maestrazgo Mining Park, participants will board a train to the entrance of the Victoria mine. Safety gear will be provided for a walking tour through the underground tunnel, offering insights into the miners' history.

During the tour, original tools from the mining era will be displayed, and former miners will share their experiences, enhancing the understanding of life in the Maestrazgo Mining Park.

Following this, participants will take a scenic train ride to the Esperanza mine for approximately 20 minutes, focusing on geological phenomena and viewing stalactites and stalagmites.

The excursion includes a visit to Culla, a medieval town associated with the Order of the Temple, recognized as a Site of Cultural Interest. Visitors will explore its cobblestone streets and significant sites such as the 11th-century Muslim castle, the Comendador's granary, and the former hospital.

The journey concludes with a return to Alcocéber, arriving approximately 5 hours after the start of the tour.
