Are you looking for plans in Alcántara? Hop on board a boat and enjoy a pleasant boat trip on the river Alagón and the José María Oriol reservoir. You'll be able to spot families of birds and discover the largest tributary of the Tagus.

Alagón + Alcántara Reservoir Boat Trip

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the El Bañaero jetty on the José María Oriol reservoir, also known as the Alcántara reservoir. There we'll board a boat and begin a trip on these waters.

First, we'll approach the concrete wall of the Alcántara dam, inaugurated in the late 1960s to regulate the flow of the Tagus river.

Next, we'll continue on the river Alagón, the longest tributary of the Tagus. We'll see the quarry used for the dam's construction and observe the local wildlife.

We'll sail through a natural environment known for its varied bird life. We'll use binoculars to try to spot as many birds as possible, including griffon vultures and black storks.

After an hour and a half of sailing, we will conclude the boat trip, returning to the departure pier.
