Discover the historical heritage of this city founded by Alexander the Great, where Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures mix.
Itinerary
After pickup at your hotel or the port in Alexandria, the tour starts with a visit to the Qaitbay Citadel, a fortress overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, built using remains of the destroyed Lighthouse of Alexandria. Next, visit the Kom el Shoqafa catacombs to explore remarkable reliefs that combine Egyptian and Greco-Roman styles. Nearby, see Pompey's Pillar, a remnant of the old temple dedicated to the god Serapis.
A lunch break by the Mediterranean follows, with a menu featuring Alexandrian specialties like fish and rice with seafood. The evening concludes at the New Alexandria Library, a modern tribute to the ancient library that housed significant papyrus collections.
After the guided tour, you'll be returned to your hotel or the port.
