Discover the historical heritage of a city founded by Alexander the Great, where Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures mix.
Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel or in the port in Alexandria. First, we will visit the Qaitbay Citadel, a fortress located by the Mediterranean sea, built with stones from the destroyed Lighthouse of Alexandria. Next, we will explore the Kom el Shoqafa catacombs, a Roman necropolis featuring rock-cut reliefs that merge Egyptian and Greco-Roman styles. Nearby, we will see Pompey's Pillar, part of a temple dedicated to the god Serapis.
Afterwards, we will stop for lunch on the Mediterranean, enjoying Alexandrian specialties like fish and rice with seafood. The tour concludes with a visit to the New Alexandria Library, a modern tribute to the ancient library, which housed a significant collection of papyrus.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel or the port.
