- 1 Bewertung
On this day trip, we'll leave behind Alghero to discover the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu and Nuraghe Appiu, two important archeological sites in Sardinia.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Piazza della Mercede in Alghero, in front of the church, to begin our day trip. After about 40 minutes of traveling, we'll reach Villanova Monteleone, in northeastern Sardinia, characterized by its typical Mediterranean forest vegetation.
First, we'll visit the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu, a Pre-Nuragic site built by Neolithic populations on two limestone outcrops, consisting of nine Domus de Janas, which are funerary structures with sacred symbols and archaic decorations carved into their walls.
Next, we'll explore the Nuraghe Appiu, an Iron Age settlement built with large volcanic rocks. Facing the sea at the foot of Mount Cuccu, it seems to hide many secrets yet to be uncovered.
After exploring Sardinia's archeological wonders, we'll begin our journey back to the meeting point in Alghero, concluding this 4-hour day trip.
