Necropolis of Puttu Codinu & Nuraghe Appiu Day Trip

On this day trip, we'll leave behind Alghero to discover the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu and Nuraghe Appiu.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at the Piazza della Mercede in Alghero, in front of the church, to begin our day trip. We will travel for about 40 minutes to Villanova Monteleone, located in northeastern Sardinia.

First, we'll visit the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu. This Pre-Nuragic site built by Neolithic populations consists of nine Domus de Janas, which are funerary structures adorned with sacred symbols and archaic decorations carved into their walls.

Next, we'll explore the Nuraghe Appiu, an Iron Age settlement constructed with large volcanic rocks. It is situated at the foot of Mount Cuccu, offering insights into its historical significance.

After exploring Sardinia's archeological sites, we'll return to the meeting point in Alghero, concluding this 4-hour day trip.
