Algiers Kasbah Guided Tour

We will meet next to the statue of Bologhine Ben Ziri, founder of the Amazigh dynasty of the Ziris. From here, we head to the upper part of the Algiers Kasbah, a beautiful citadel declared a World Heritage Site.

As we walk through the narrow streets of this neighborhood on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, we will notice the traditional Arab houses lining them. We will also pass numerous stores showcasing Algerian craftsmanship.

The tour continues in front of the Ketchaoua mosque, where we will admire its elegant facade and colorful tiles blending various shapes in shades of purple, green, and blue.

Next, we will enter the Palace of Rais in the lower part of the kasbah, revealing the story of its other name, Bastion 23. This 16th-century complex consists of three palaces and six luxurious mansions, where many conspiracies and romances unfolded.

The tour will conclude at 12 pm as we walk through the main streets of the lower part of the kasbah.
