Játiva, Onteniente + Anna Day Trip
We'll meet in front of the Exhibition Hall of the Lonja del Pescado (Fish Market) in Alicante to kick off our day trip into the mountains of Valencia, visiting the towns of Játiva, Onteniente, and Anna.
After a 1.5-hour trip, we will arrive at Játiva castle, a Muslim fort located in the heart of the Sierra Vernissa. We will explore the castle's history, discussing its occupation by Romans and Arabs and its strategic importance to the Aragonese crown.
Following our castle tour, we will head to Onteniente, where we will visit highlights such as the Duchess of Almodovar's Palace and the Arab and Christian Museum. We will also learn about the town's textile traditions and its historical significance.
Next, we will travel to Anna to visit the Palace of the Counts of Cervellón, also known as the Alhambra of Valencia. The palace features intricate decor and layout that showcases its historical importance.
Finally, we will return to Alicante, arriving 7 hours after our departure.
