Go on a winter wonderland adventure under the stars on our Fuentes de Invierno Nighttime Snowshoe Tour. We'll explore the magical snowy forests of Asturias for an unforgettable night.
Fuentes de Invierno Nighttime Snowshoe Tour
We'll meet at the La Braña restaurant in La Raya. After gathering our equipment and headlamps, we will begin a snowshoe tour around the Fuentes de Invierno ski resort.
Weather permitting, we will walk around the base of either Torres Peak or Ausente Peak. During our 3 mile (5 kilometre) route, the night sky will envelop us as we ascend the slopes of the Asturian mountains, encountering thickets and forests of birch and beech trees.
We will observe the stars and look for well-known constellations, including the Big and Little Dippers. As we walk through the Cantabrian Mountains, we will learn about the science of snow and snowflakes.
After touring this setting, we will return to the starting point, concluding the tour two and a half hours later.
