Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike

Go on an adventure in the foothills of one of the peaks in the Cantabrian Mountains on our Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike from La Raya. We'll explore colossal landscapes that lie on the border between Asturias and León.

Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike

At 10:30 am, we'll meet at the La Braña restaurant in La Raya, an Asturian village. After gathering, we'll equip ourselves and commence a snowshoeing hike to the glacial cirque of Torres Peak, ideal for gently exercising in nature.

This 3.7-mile (6-kilometre) route features smooth ascents and descents at the base of Torres Peak, offering views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We will encounter glacial peat bogs and heathland, and may spot alpine newts, partridges, or hares.

As we traverse snowy trails, we'll admire panoramic views of the Cantabrian Mountains and the 6,900 feet (2,104 metres) tall Torres Peak. We will share interesting facts about snow and local legends.

We will then begin our return journey to La Raya, concluding our activity by approximately 1:30 pm.
