Snowshoe Hike to Torres Peak

Our adventure begins at 10:30 am at the La Braña restaurant in the quaint village of La Raya. After ensuring everyone has arrived, we'll equip ourselves and commence a snowshoeing expedition towards the glacial cirque of Torres Peak, providing a delightful way to enjoy nature while engaging in light exercise.

On this 3.7-mile (6-kilometre) journey, we will encounter gentle climbs and descents at the foot of Torres Peak, all while soaking in the breathtaking views of the around mountainous terrains and valleys. Along our path, we will observe glacial peat bogs and heathlands where, with a keen eye, you might catch sight of alpine newts, partridges, or hares.

Continuing along the snow-blanketed paths, we will take in amazing panoramic vistas of the Cantabrian Mountains. We'll have the opportunity to closely admire Torres Peak, a prominent quartzite mountain reaching a height of 6,900 feet (2,104 metres). Additionally, some fascinating insights into snow and local legends will be shared during our trek.

Finally, we will begin our trek back to La Raya, concluding our adventure around 1:30 pm.
