Discover the European Hollywood and explore a landscape where many famous old western films were shot on this day trip to Tabernas & Fort Bravo!
Tabernas & Fort Bravo Day Trip
We'll meet at the indicated time at Calle Belén in Almería and set off on a one-hour bus journey to the town of Tabernas.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Terrera Ventura interpretation centre to learn about an ancient civilisation that existed in the desert 3000 years ago. You will also discover the formation of the Tabernas Desert and its unique characteristics.
Participants will ascend the steps of the town's castle and enjoy views of the desert and the Filabres and Alhamilla mountain ranges.
A noteworthy detail: during the 60s and 70s, the desert was referred to as the European Hollywood, as many famous old western films were filmed there. We will share interesting facts and stories about these films while appreciating the desert landscapes.
Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic center of town, admiring its elegant houses and monuments such as the church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
Our next destination will be Fort Bravo, a western-style theme park also known as Texas Hollywood. Participants will have 4 hours of free time to explore the park, watch cowboys, enjoy cowboy duels, and see cancan dancers. Options include taking a horse cart to tour the Mexican village, the Indian camp, or the American fort.
To conclude the excursion, we will return to the bus and head back to Almería, completing a total journey of 7 hours.
