Pulo di Altamura Bike Tour

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Pescariello train station to start this bike tour of the Pulo di Altamura.

When booking, you can choose to do the tour on a standard bike or an electric bike. The route will be about 20 kilometers long.

We'll pedal along the country roads of the Alta Murgia National Park, making our way to the Pulo di Altamura, a sinkhole spanning nearly 2 kilometers across and 90 meters deep. We will explain how this karst sinkhole was formed, recognized as one of the largest in southern Italy. We will also observe the local flora and fauna and explore the prehistoric caves on the north side of the Pulo di Altamura, where the remains of a pre-neanderthal man were found. Your guide will provide insights about this and the history of the caves.

Then, we'll begin our return to the starting point. After about three hours of riding, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
