We will meet in front of the Altea City Hall to start our exploration. We will learn about the origin of the town's name.
Our first stop will be the charming neighbourhood of Bellagaurda, exploring picturesque streets adorned with bougainvilleas. We will visit the Plaza de la Canterería, the site of Altea's first neighbourhood.
Continuing, we will see 18th-century houses transformed into hotels, including Ca Salva. We will ascend the Costera Pont del Montcau to reach Plaza del Agua, where we will learn about a Medieval water mill used since the 15th century.
The tour continues to Costera del Mestre la Música, featuring 255 steps, leading to the Portal Vell, a 16th-century entrance. From Portal Nou, we will enter the fishing neighbourhood and imagine 19th-century fishermen at work.
From the Baluarte del Común, we will enjoy panoramic views from Calpe to Benidorm. We will then visit the Glorieta de Francisco Martínez and ascend Calle de Santa Bárbara, arriving at Casa Cervantes and the bustling Plaza de la Iglesia, where we will admire Nuestra Señora del Consuelo Church.
