Chateau Clos Lucé Ticket

Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most enigmatic artists of the Renaissance, and the castle where he lived the last years hides some fascinating secrets and legends. Discover them for yourself with a ticket for the Chateau Clos Lucé.

Clos Lucé Castle

Located in the Loire Valley, Clos Lucé is one of the famous mansions in France. Leonardo da Vinci spent his last three years here. Previously, the chateau was home to nobility such as Francis I and Marguerite de Navarre.

The castle is a tribute to da Vinci's life and work. In the basement, you will find numerous sketches of inventions he envisioned in 1450, such as a tank, a siege bridge, and a helicopter, well before they became reality.

Strolling through the gardens, you will see models of these precursor inventions. Clos Lucé Chateau is essential to visit in Amboise, located less than half a mile from the city's famous castle, which is connected by an underground passageway.

As you explore the rooms of Clos Lucé, you can imagine da Vinci's life. When he died at 67, the main room still housed his masterpiece: the Mona Lisa.

New immersive space

On the first floor, you can enjoy an immersive show of 17 masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, offering insight into the painting process from preparatory drawing to final painting. The exhibition provides a unique vision of da Vinci's work.

This new space encompasses 500 m² of galleries dedicated to Da Vinci's work, featuring models, 3D animations, and video games to engage visitors of all ages in the Renaissance master's creative process.
