Discover the history of the Châteaux de Chenonceau and Chambord with this tour from Amboise, including a visit to the Duhard Cellars.

Description

The Loire Valley is rich in wineries, châteaux, and scenic landscapes. This minibus tour begins with a pickup from the Amboise Tourist Office at 9:30 am. The first destination is the Château de Chenonceau, known for its arches over the river Cher.

The Château de Chenonceau, referred to as the "Château des Dames," is a significant royal palace. Inside, we will explore the rooms of Catherine de Medici and other notable women who shaped its history during the Renaissance. The château's name change is also an interesting story related to one of its former residents.

Following this visit, we will return to Amboise for a light lunch at the Duhard Wine Cellars, which includes a tasting of three French wines paired with regional cold meats and cheeses.

After lunch, we will visit the Château de Chambord, one of the largest châteaux in the Loire Valley. The interior features a spiral staircase, traditionally attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The essence of the French Renaissance can be felt throughout the castle.

Upon completing the visit to Château de Chambord, we will return to the Amboise Tourist Office, with an expected arrival from 6 pm onwards.
