Bethany & Dead Sea Tour

Visit Bethany beyond Jordan, the place where Jesus of Nazareth was baptised, and bathe in the Dead Sea on this unforgettable tour from Amman!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amman and set off in the direction of Bethany, located on the banks of the Jordan River. This pilgrimage destination on the border with Israel features several churches from different branches of Christianity. Known as Jordan beyond the River, this is where John the Baptist baptised Jesus Christ.

We will spend an hour visiting the archaeological ruins of the historic Byzantine churches commemorating this sacred site, and we'll see the exact spot where Jesus was baptised. We will also go to the Jordan River to experience the waters of this significant location for Judaism and Christianity.

Next, we will travel south toward the Dead Sea, which is located more than 1,400 feet (430 metres) below sea level. Here, you will have 2 hours of free time to bathe in the lake and experience the high salt concentrations that make it impossible to sink.

Finally, our private tour will conclude as we drop you off at your hotel in Amman after between 6 and 7 hours of exploring.
