Ceremony Details
At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Amritsar and board a vehicle to attend the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony. After a drive of about 40 minutes, we will arrive at the Wagah-Attari border. The ceremony has been taking place every day since 1948. Upon arrival, we will sit on the bleachers and enjoy a welcome drink. During the ceremony, you will witness the closing of the border fence, as border guards salute each other and perform military movements and formations.
As we watch the closing of the Wagah border, we will explain the history behind this ritual, also known as the "Beating Retreat Ceremony". Every evening before sunset, Indian and Pakistani soldiers participate in this 30-minute event showcasing their patriotism and camaraderie.
After 4-5 hours of enjoying this ceremony at the Wagah-Attari border, we will take you back to your hotel in Amritsar and conclude the tour.
