Are you a love of nature? Be enchanted by Northern Holland on this Texel Island day trip, the largest in the Frisian archipelago.
Texel Island
At the time indicated, we'll meet at 151 De Ruijterkade near the Port of Amsterdam and travel by bus to the Wadden Sea wetlands, a World Heritage Site.
We will cross the picturesque North Holland countryside, famous for traditional landscapes of farms, windmills, and charming towns reclaimed from the North Sea. These areas, called polders, represent typical Dutch scenery. We'll learn the history of these lands while traveling to the port of Den Helder. Here, we'll take a ferry that takes only 30 minutes to reach Texel Island.
Upon arrival, we'll board a bus for a tour of the island to explore its main attractions, including Duinen van Texel National Park and its iconic lighthouse located at the island's northern end.
We will visit a delightful town for a break at a restaurant, where a traditional lunch featuring a typical Dutch dish will be served.
After lunch, we'll proceed to the port of Het Horntje in the south of the island for a return ferry to Den Helder. From there, a bus will take us back to the meeting point in Amsterdam, concluding approximately 9 hours of activity.
