Wadden Sea Cruise and Seal Safari
- 7 Stunden
Enjoy a half-day at sea spotting seals, porpoises, and other animals in their natural environment in the Wadden Sea, and visiting the town of Medemblik.
Wadden Sea Cruise and Seal Safari
Meet at the indicated time at Amsterdam River Cruise Dock and take a bus to the coast of the Wadden Sea. During this 90-minute bus trip, you will experience Holland's rural scenery with farms, villas, and windmills.
Upon arrival at the coast, board the boat for a cruise in the Wadden Sea. From the boat, observe grey seals, porpoises, and other wildlife that inhabit the coastal wetlands and tidal system.
The Wadden Sea, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, serves as a critical stop for millions of migratory birds and offers calm waters with minimal wave activity. The cruise will navigate the notable levee between North Holland and Friesland, which protects the lowlands from flooding.
The boat trip concludes at the same harbor where it began. On land, we will pass through the 17th-century village of Twisk, leading to the historic town of Medemblik on the IJsselmeer coast. You will have free time to explore the narrow streets, visit the windmill, brewery, and castle, or enjoy shopping and dining.
Afterward, we return by bus to Amsterdam.
