Tour Details
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at a central meeting point to begin our 3-hour guided tour of the capital of Terceira. Once we're all here, we'll start our walking tour to discover the main attractions of this Portuguese city.
Did you know the city was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO? From the port of the town, we'll reach the Capitães Generais Palace and Jardim Duque da Terceira, which was originally a Jesuit school and today houses valuable works of art.
We'll continue the tour and visit the Santuario Nossa Senhora da Conceição and admire its striking white and blue facade. We'll learn about the history of the Paços do Concelho building and, of course, the famous church of Santísimo Salvador da Sé, the cathedral of Angra do Heroísmo.
With all this walking around, is anyone a little peckish? We'll stop at a pastry shop where you'll have half an hour of free time to enjoy a coffee and a traditional Portuguese pastry.
After we've regained our strength, we'll move on to visit the Teatro Angrense, a 19th-century building that hosts the theater groups of the island and holds major national performances.
Lastly, we'll visit the Duque de Bragança market and enjoy a live demonstration of how traditional Azorean embroidery is made. At this final stop, we'll bring the tour to an end.
