Hiking Trails in Terceira

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of four different walking trail options. All four include pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Angra do Heroísmo and last two and a half hours.

Monte Brasil Trail

Begin at Relvão Park, then head to the São João Baptista Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route includes the charming town of Angra do Heroísmo and the four peaks of Monte Brasil.

Rocha do Chambre Trail

Starting from Malha Grande in the Bioscoitos area, explore the Rocha do Chambre while learning about endemic flora and fauna. Look out for magnificent cedar trees along the wooden bridge.

Baías da Agualva Trail

This trail begins near Pico dos Loiros. As you hike, discover the winemaking traditions of Terceira and visit the Bay of Pombas, featuring rugged cliffs. Birdwatching and admiring Ponta do Misterio are also part of the trek.

San Sebastián Fortresses Trail

Starting on the road to Punta de las Contendas, see the local lighthouse and explore historical fortresses including the Fort of Greta, Forte de Santa Catarina das Mós, and Fort of Bom Jesus. The tour concludes in the main square of San Sebastian.
