Antigua Guatemala Guided Walking Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Calle Oriente and begin exploring by foot the historic streets of this city that was the capital of Guatemala for two hundred years.
We'll tour this ancient colonial city accompanied by a guide who will narrate the stories that took place in Antigua Guatemala. The tour will start at the church of La Merced, followed by a visit to the Arch of Santa Catalina, which, along with the convent cloister and the church's nave, forms one of the city's landmarks.
Our next stop will be at the Parque Central, one of the city's main squares and a popular meeting place. Lining each side are significant buildings such as the City Hall, the Church of San José (formerly known as the Cathedral of Guatemala), the Archbishop's Palace, and the Portal del Comercio, historically an important shopping area. The final stop on our tour will be at the Tanque de la Unión, a gathering place that served as a public laundry in colonial times.
At the end of our walking tour of Antigua Guatemala, we'll return to the meeting point, concluding the tour three hours after it begins.
