On this tour of the island of Antigua which departs from Saint John, we'll explore the history and attractions of the most populated island in Antigua and Barbuda.
Antigua Island Tour
We'll meet up at 9 am at Heritage Quay in Saint John, and from here we will begin our tour of the island of Antigua.
First, we'll visit the historic sugar mills that were used to grind sugar cane for producing distilled alcoholic beverages like rum.
Next, we will head to the south coast of Antigua to visit Nelson's Dockyard, a site listed as a cultural heritage location, located in the English Harbour, crucial for the geopolitical interests of the United Kingdom in the West Indies.
After visiting the harbor and its museum, we will take a break for lunch at a local restaurant, where you'll have a selection of daily specials.
After lunch, we will proceed to the Shirley Heights lookout point for panoramic views of Antigua.
Finally, we will conclude our tour by returning to the meeting point, arriving at around 2:30 pm.
