On this tour of the island of Antigua which departs from Saint John, we'll explore the history and scenic attractions of the most populated island in Antigua and Barbuda.
Antigua Island Tour
We'll meet up at 9 am at Heritage Quay in Saint John, and set off on our tour of the island of Antigua.
First, we'll visit the historic sugar mills, ancient presses used to grind sugar cane for producing distilled alcoholic beverages such as rum. You'll see how it was produced in the past.
Next, we'll visit Nelson's Dockyard on the south coast of Antigua, a cultural heritage site located in the English Harbour, significant for the geopolitical interests of the United Kingdom in the West Indies.
After the museum at the harbor, we'll have a break at a local restaurant for lunch, with options from a selection of daily specials.
Following lunch, we'll head to the Shirley Heights lookout point for views of Antigua. Be prepared with your cameras!
Finally, we'll conclude the tour by returning to the meeting point, arriving at around 2:30 pm.
