The free tour meets in the Grote Markt ("Great Market Square"), the town hall square. This area is a remark of the city's 'golden era' in the sixteenth century, a period of immense wealth and significance. The tour features the city's most iconic monuments, including Het Steen, the medieval fortress key to the port's economy, St. Charles Borromeo Church, with decoration by Rubens, and Boerentoren, also known as the KBC Tower, one of Europe's early skyscrapers.

Participants will also see the house of Rubens and the historic Vlaeykensgang, nearly unchanged since the sixteenth century. By the tour's conclusion, attendees will gain an appreciation of Antwerp as the diamond capital of the world.
