Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour

One of the most important natural monuments in Brazil awaits you on this excursion to the Guartelá Canyon. We'll enjoy a hiking route through this idyllic place. We'll also take a panoramic tour of the city of Castro.

Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour

At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Curitiba and go directly to the Guartelá State Park. The journey by minibus will take approximately two and a half hours.

Once we arrive, we'll start a 5-kilometre (3.1 miles) hiking route to explore the largest canyon in Brazil, which is the sixth largest in the world. The hike will take about two and a half hours and provide incredible views of the Guartelá Canyon, a natural formation 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) long. We will also try to spot local wildlife including the king vulture and the blue-fronted parakeet.

As we ascend to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the canyon, we'll encounter several waterfalls where you can take a dip if you wish.

After the hike, we'll head to the town of Castro for a delicious buffet lunch. With your appetite satisfied, we'll take a panoramic tour of Castro to admire its main monuments, including the lake park and the church.

Before returning to Curitiba, we'll visit the Tropero de Castro Museum, dedicated to one of the oldest professions in Brazil, dating back to the 16th century.

We'll finish the tour at 7 pm and drop you off at your hotel in Curitiba.
