On this Ilha do Mel (Honey Island) tour we will head to Pontal do Paraná and board a boat to enjoy the natural and monumental landscapes of this island in the Paranaguá Bay.

At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Curitiba and drive to Pontal do Paraná by minibus.

After an hour and a half, we'll disembark the minibus and board a boat to Mel Island. We will skirt the island in the bay of Paranaguá and disembark at the base of Morro das Conchas. From here, we'll climb approximately 200 steps to reach the lighthouse built by order of Pedro II of Brazil in 1872. We will learn about the history of this structure while enjoying views of the beaches and lush vegetation of Mel Island.

Afterward, we will walk to a local restaurant for a typical lunch. Following lunch, you will have three hours of free time to swim, sunbathe, and visit the island's craft shops.

You can also visit the fortress of Nuestra Señora de los Placeres, an 18th-century military construction significant for the defense of both the island and the mainland.

Finally, we will reunite to return to the boat and drop you off at your hotel by 7 pm.
